Paint is a color variety for Bantam Silkies. Breeding Paints results in dominate White, Black and Paint. Paints are a black chicken that carries one dominant white gene. Striking paint feathering with black patches in white feathers. A few spots of black will “leak through” the white as the dominant white gene does not always cover up all of the black.
It is important to understand that the White for the Silkie must be a dominant white in order for the Paint to be created.
